This book was a bit difficult for me to rate, there were a lot of things that I loved, but there were also a lot of things that I find distasteful. These are gay men who seem real. Many gay erotica or romance novels are incredibly misogynistic, pinning the problems of closeted gay men on their past relationships with women.

The financial situation of dealing with his mom’s alcoholism was also portrayed well. As for the two of them together, I thought fakily heroes made a super sweet and adorable couple.

I really liked the Italian family. He was never homophobic or judgmental towards gay men, which is rare for closeted men in gay romance novels in the really bad ones, they spend two chapters stewing in internalized homophobia before being miraculously “cured”. Cat of Cat’s Books: This completely threw me the first time Trey’s POV came up, and distracted the hell out of me the entire first half of the book. I liked both characters and really enjoyed faimly romance. I liked; it wasn’t great, but it was a nice, adorable read.
Before they can deal with the fallout from the Fierros, Trey’s famjly situation becomes critical. He was so damn sweet, loving and kind, always so protective.
Mary G on March 12, at 6: This book deals with alcoholism, broken promises, and overbearing little sisters. This novel made it clear that however a man has sex does not change his gender identity, which is an important point to make because so many people pass judgment.
The authors do a nice job here of showing the contrast between the families and how it has shaped both of these men.
