In this book, what I did love seeing was the struggle between the Light croggkn Dark taken on from a different angle – not only from the outside like in the previous two books, but also moving within the Dark itself and looking closer into its workings. The world is confusing.

In this one Hem is the focus of the story and his journey to help his sister Maerad on her quest to help save the light. I enjoy Saliman’s character immensely because he’s so engaging. The Black Army is advancing north, and even as Maerad faces a mighty confrontation with the Landrost to save Innail, all of the Seven Kingdoms are threatened with bitter and devastating defeat.

I say this because this book is listed in the Junior section of my local library, which I’m not entirely sure is suitable, I would suggest Young Adult would be more appropriate.

I hardly alisln him at the end. Also, sometimes its just confusing I’m going to have to buy this book and read it to continue the storyline. She was my favorite character in that whole book! But war is approaching from the Iron Tower, and the south is no longer safe. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. The content of the book was darker the than previous novels, but still a great read!
