Apr 30, AlexRS rated it really liked it. I wish I had found this book when I started managing people 20 years ago, it would have saved me a lot of painful trial and error. The analysis tries to get the manager to understand the situation from the workers point of view, with a checklist of things like “worker doesn’t know how to do the job” or “worker doesn’t think task is important”, which are often overlooked by managers as causes of performance problems.

Information regarding “Why don’t people do what they’re supposed to do” and “How to run effective coaching sessions” are priceless.
